Current Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino is keen to take over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United boss. Manchester United parted ways with Solskjaer on Sunday after the club’s awful run in the Premier League. The club have put Michael Carrick in temporary charge until they find an interim manager. Carrick was a first-team coach under Solskjaer and will be assisted by Mike Phelan and Kieran McKenna when the Red Devils face Villarreal on Tuesday. Pochettino has been heavily linked with the Manchester United role, but has a contract with PSG until 2023. Man Utd have announced on their official website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first press conference as Manchester United interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly respected German will take charge of the Reds until the end of this season, before continuing in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit meant that Rangnick could not manage United in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue his role as interim. We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s permit has now been approved and he will be officially unveiled in front of the media on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first match in charge of United, against Crystal Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT on Sunday.
