 David de Gea has been in terrific form so far 

this season, but his success has brought Manchester

 United to an interesting crossroads. 

De Gea, who is 31 years old, appears to be the 

last of a fading breed of goalkeepers: the outstanding

 shot-stopper who can often be counted on when

 his side needs him the most. 

Goalkeepers, on the other hand, have progressed

. They've grown more mobile and dynamic, and 

De Gea is unlikely to be able to adjust to become

 more like Ederson of Manchester City or 

Alisson of Liverpool. 

According to the Daily Mail, United are interested

 in signing a goalkeeper in the mold of the

 two Brazilians, with Leeds United's Illan 

Meslier reportedly being considered. 

The only difficulty is the game that United

 sent their scouts to watch the youngster play
