Breaking news: look who arrives Manchester United, what a player , he is ready to play for Manchester United, what a signing ..
Welcome to the United on my mind
daily round-up, where we look at some
of the best Manchester United stories you
might have missed.
Tariq Lamptey is a name reportedly
on the United radar as the club are rumoured
to be keen on bolstering their full-back options
ahead of Ralf Rangnick’s arrival.
Ex-Liverpool hero Philippe Coutinho
has also reportedly been offered to both
Manchester clubs in the hope the Barcelona
man can revitalise his career after slow
start to life
This is certainly a report which will excite
many United fans. Reports in Spain claim
United will look to bolster their options in
the full-back areas with Kieran Trippier
still firmly on the list of players the club
are mooted to be heavily interested in. The
report also suggests if the club doesn’t
sign the Atletico Madrid man, their attention
will turn to Tariq Lamptey.
Lamptey has been receiving plenty of
plaudits recently and rightly so. The
young right-back offers an exciting attacking
edge and is now back in the Brighton first
-team fold after a prolonged injury absence
. He would appear to be the type of player
who would in theory excel under the new
management of Rangnick.
Another reason as to why United are
possibly looking to recruit a right-back
is the doubts that remain over Aaron Wan
-Bissaka’s lack of attacking output. With
January looming, Ragnick already seems
to have some decisions to make. Time waits
for no man.
We can all remember how brilliant Coutinho
was in his prime Liverpool days. The
Brazilian midfielder was so often the instrumental
player in that Liverpool side who were
so close to securing the Premier League
title under Brendan Rodgers. He decided
to make the jump to Barcelona in 2018
but things have not worked out as the
Brazilian had intended.
Coutinho has struggled to find a consistent
rhythm to his game and failed to make
an impact after his big-money move to
Spain. Now, reports suggest he’s looking
for a way out.
Sport have reported that both United and
Manchester City have been offered the
opportunity to sign Coutinho in the January
transfer window.
Barcelona will seemingly look to offload
players considering the difficulties of their
current financial landscape and although
there are several reasons as to why United
should steer clear of Coutinho, it’s perhaps
time to play devil’s advocate with this
particular rumour.
United may well find themselves in a
situation where several midfielders leave
the club in the not-too-distant future. The
likes of Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Donny
van de Beek have been linked with a move
away from Old Trafford, which may leave
room for squad options to arrive. This
may open the door for a signing like Coutinho
to bolster options and help get his stalling
career back on track. It would also afford
a former Liverpool player the chance of
scoring a goal for the mighty United
at Anfield. The stuff of dreams.
And that's just one rumoured battle between
the Manchester clubs. Julian Alvarez- the
highly rated River Plate forward - is another
name who is said to be interesting both
United and City.
Austin reportshave reported both Manchester
clubs are set to battle it out for the 21-
year-old in January following a run of
form that has seen him blossom into one
of the brightest talents in South America
, scoring 17 goals and racking up seven
assists in 19 league appearances this season.
This boy has huge talent. The report also
suggests a wide variety of top European
clubs, such as Real Madrid and Inter
Milan, are also interested in signing Alvarez.
United will need to assess their forward
options considering Cavani is out of
contract next summer and a need to look
towards the future. Alvarez has a release
clause of just over £21m and looks like
another player whose profile would suit
the demands of the Rangnick philosophy.
This could very well be one to watch,
not just from a United perspective but
also to see how this young star will
continue to blossom.
