, a former Manchester United midfielder, 

has been recommended as a makeweight in 

a swap deal with Tottenham's Tanguy Ndombele. 




Antonio Conte wants to revamp his midfield

, but Herrera does not appear to be the 

right guy for the job. 


That's because Herrera has stated that 

United is the only club in England where 

he wants to play. 


After his contract at Old Trafford expired

 in July 2019, the midfielder joined 

Paris Saint-Germain. 



If he had stayed, he appears to have been

 well-suited to Ralf Rangnick's frenetic 

style of play for his midfielders. 


Herrera was always a fierce competitor 

who could have provided some leadership 

and experience to United's engine room, 

which has been lacking.
