Breaking news: lukaku makes a dangerous move ,as he deletes Twitter and makes change to Facebook bio as Chelsea row escalates
Romelu lukaku has deleted his Twitter
account and has made a suspicious change
to his Facebook page after being left out
of Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on
Sunday.
The Belgian sent shockwaves around
the club a few days ago after footage
emerged of him declaring his unhappiness
at Stamford Bridge during a bombshell
interview on Italian TV.
Lukaku revealed he doesn't like the
formation Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel
has been using all season and insisted
he would've stayed at Inter Milan had
they offered him a new contract
last summer.
In response, Tuchel decided to leave
the striker at home ahead of what was
a hugely significant tie with Liverpool,
stressing that the "noise was too big" around
the player to include him.
Amidst the furore, fans noticed that
Lukaku's Twitter account no longer exists
- with many claiming he deleted it
some weeks ago, around the same time
his infamous interview was recorded.
Despite his profile picture showing him
in Chelsea shirt, there is no mention of
the club on Lukaku's profile, with his bio
reading 'Inter Milan' instead.
It's possible that he simply hasn't updated
his page since the summer, but it's
not exactly a good look.
It's understood that Tuchel and
Lukaku will sit down with each other
for showdown talks, with the £97.5 million
man's future temporarily up in the air.
Despite the tension, Tuchel insisted
that there was still a way back for Lukaku.
"He is our player, there is always a
way back, we will clear this behind closed
doors and once we have made a decision
and Romelu knows, you will maybe know
also," he said after the Liverpool game.
"It is not to be discussed now."
Chelsea came from behind to earn a
point in what was an absolutely thrilling
encounter against title-rivals Liverpool
yesterday.
Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah
had given Jurgen Klopp's side
a commanding lead in the first half before
Mateo Kovacic and Christian
Pulisic struck back for the Blues.
The draw means that Manchester City
have extended their lead at the top of the
Premier League to 11 points.
