United were interested in signing Neves, according to Sky Sports at the start of the month. 


Since joining Wolves from Porto, the Portugal international has been a steady performer in both the Championship and Premier League. 

Bruno Lage's side thrashed United 1-0 at Old Trafford earlier this month, and he produced a midfield masterclass, despite compatriot Joao Moutinho scoring the game's only goal.

  Man Utd have announced on their official   website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first  press conference as Manchester United  interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly  respected German will take charge of the Reds  until the end of this season, before continuing  in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit  meant that Rangnick could not manage United  in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old  Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue  his role as interim.  We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s  permit has now been approved and he  will be officially unveiled in front of the media  on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first  match in charge of United, against Crystal  Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT  on Sunday.
