Breaking news: Manchester United midfielder target who will replace pogba wants 150 thousand pounds weekly, should he be given such ?
Manchester United may have been given
a boost by Boubacar Kamara’s reported
wage demands.
Kamara is running down his contract at
Marseille and will become a free agent
this summer.
The athletic have reported United are keeping
track of Kamara and like him as a
potential signing.
The sun report Kamara is looking for a
contract of £150,000 per week.
This can benefit United because it may
rule out West Ham and Leeds, who are
both reported to be keen.
Sides like the Hammers can of course offer
more first team guarantees than United,
as we saw with Youri Tielemans joining Leicester.
But the wages United can offer gives us
an edge in this pursuit, if he turns out to be
a player the club are determined to sign.
One threat are Newcastle, who are also
interested, and their new cash makes them
a very viable option for Kamara if interested
from the red side of Manchester is slow
to materialise.
Its unclear how high Kamara features
on United’s list of summer targets, as it is
pretty likely the club don’t even know themselves
, a situation dictated by the lack of clarity
with the manager role.
If they aren’t going to make a move now, then
all United can do is make a shortlist of options
and keep in touch with them all, before the
new manager decides who he wants to sign.
£150,000 per week is a high wage for a 22-
year-old, and the limit of what United
should pay. Its also substantially less than
Jadon Sancho earns, for instance, but more
than Donny van de Beek.
If this is a move United go through with,
the wages are a trade off with the lack of transfer fee.
Kamara would sign on a free transfer, and
as soon as you start moving for free agents
, you end up competing over who can offer
the highest salary.
United would probably prefer to offer Kamara
around £100,000 per week, but considering
there is no transfer fee involved, the club are
likely to stay open minded. Demanding a
premium is reflective of his free agent status.
