Chelsea beat Manchester United to complete the signing of 18-year-old left-back Dylan Williams from Derby

  Chelsea have completed the signing  of 18-year-old left-back Dylan Williams  from Derby County for an undisclosed  fee. Williams made a total of nine first-team  appearances for the Rams having  played for the first time in their FA  Cup defeat to Chorley last season. He is Chelsea's first signing of the  January transfer window with Derby  boss Wayne Rooney saying on Friday that  he 'couldn't stand in the way of  his opportunity.' Williams, who made the step up to first -team football at the stricken Championship  club at the beginning of the season,  posted pictured of himself signing  his Chelsea deal on his Instagram  account.   Man Utd have announced on their official   website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first  press conference as Manchester United  interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly  respected German will take charge of the Reds  until the end of this season, before continuing  in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit  meant that Rangnick could not manage United  in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old  Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue  his role as interim.  We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s  permit has now been approved and he  will be officially unveiled in front of the media  on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first  match in charge of United, against Crystal  Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT  on Sunday.
