 Detectives have been given more time to question

 a man in his twenties who was arrested on 

Sunday on suspicion of rape and assault. The 

announcement comes just one day after 

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood

 was suspended by the club due to social 

media charges. 

Greenwood has yet to reply to the charges 

with any form of comment, according to a 

lady who claims she was hurt at his hands. 

According to The Athletic, police also went 

to his home in Cheshire in search of evidence

 when it was discovered that a man had been

 arrested. 

On Monday, Greater Manchester Police issued

 an update, indicating that they have been 

allowed further time to speak with the detained.
