 The England U21 international is currently

 on loan at Norwich City, where he has made

 an impression, winning player of the 

month in January. 




Williams came through United's youth system

 and made his first team debut in 2019, filling

 in for Luke Shaw at left-back. 


He can, however, play on both sides, 

which has attracted Rangnick's attention. 


The German had only been at Old Trafford

 for a fortnight when his side faced Norwich

at Carrow Road, but according to the 

Sun, it was here that Rangnick made 

a beeline for Williams. 


The full-back was ruled ineligible for 

the match because he was unable to play

 against his parent club, although Rangnick 

was well aware of Williams' abilities and spoke

 with him.

  Man Utd have announced on their official   website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first  press conference as Manchester United  interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly  respected German will take charge of the Reds  until the end of this season, before continuing  in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit  meant that Rangnick could not manage United  in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old  Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue  his role as interim.  We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s  permit has now been approved and he  will be officially unveiled in front of the media  on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first  match in charge of United, against Crystal  Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT  on Sunday.

  Manchester United have reportedly  enquired about signing Marseille midfielder  Boubacar Kamara during the current  winter transfer window. Kamara has entered  the final six months of his contract for  Les Olympiens and is therefore free  to negotiate a contract with other clubs  for the coming summer.
