Manchester United's chances of getting 

Mauricio Pochettino to Old Trafford as their

 next permanent manager have been boosted, 

despite Paris Saint-pursuit Germain's of 

former Real Madrid manager Zinedine 

Zidane. 


When Ralf Rangnick's temporary stint 

ends in the summer, United will be looking

 for a permanent manager, with former 

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino, 

Ajax's Erik ten Hag, and Leicester City's

 Brendan Rodgers among the 

main prospects. 


Former France midfielder Zinedine Zidane

 has been linked with a move to PSG 

for some time, and such a move would allow

 Pochettino to return to the Premier League

 in the summer. 


There have been several snags in the 

French club's pursuit of Zidane, with 

sporting director Leonardo believed 

to be one of them.

  Man Utd have announced on their official   website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first  press conference as Manchester United  interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly  respected German will take charge of the Reds  until the end of this season, before continuing  in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit  meant that Rangnick could not manage United  in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old  Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue  his role as interim.  We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s  permit has now been approved and he  will be officially unveiled in front of the media  on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first  match in charge of United, against Crystal  Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT  on Sunday.

  Manchester United have reportedly  enquired about signing Marseille midfielder  Boubacar Kamara during the current  winter transfer window. Kamara has entered  the final six months of his contract for  Les Olympiens and is therefore free  to negotiate a contract with other clubs  for the coming summer. However, Manchester United want to  secure Kamara's services during the  winter window for a reduced fee, as Ralf  Rangnick looks to bolster his options  in midfield.
