 Manchester United and Arsenal are battling

 for a top-four berth in the Premier League 

this season, which is nearing the end. 




United won a critical three points against

 Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford 

on Tuesday evening. Ralf Rangnick's team 

is now in fourth place with 43 points, two ahead

 of West Ham United and four ahead of 

Arsenal in sixth. 


The Gunners, on the other hand, have three

 games in hand over United as Mikel Arteta 

attempts to return his club to the UEFA 

Champions League. 


United's win on Tuesday was their first in 

the Premier League since beating West Ham

 1-0 at Old Trafford on January 22, and 

there had been talk of a schism within the

 group.

  Man Utd have announced on their official   website that Ralf Rangnick will hold his first  press conference as Manchester United  interim manager on Friday morning. They stated: It was announced on Monday that the highly  respected German will take charge of the Reds  until the end of this season, before continuing  in a consultancy role for a further two years. The process of applying for a work permit  meant that Rangnick could not manage United  in tonight’s fixture against Arsenal at Old  Trafford, where Michael Carrick will continue  his role as interim.  We are delighted to confirm that Ralf’s  permit has now been approved and he  will be officially unveiled in front of the media  on Friday morning. Ralf will presumably look forward to his first  match in charge of United, against Crystal  Palace in the Premier League at 14:00 GMT  on Sunday.

  Manchester United have reportedly  enquired about signing Marseille midfielder  Boubacar Kamara during the current  winter transfer window. Kamara has entered  the final six months of his contract for  Les Olympiens and is therefore free  to negotiate a contract with other clubs  for the coming summer. However, Manchester United want to  secure Kamara's services during the  winter window for a reduced fee, as Ralf  Rangnick looks to bolster his options  in midfield.
